Adobe adds over 70 creative tools to ChatGPT via new plugin

Adobe has released a plugin that integrates more than 70 of its applications, including Photoshop and Premiere, into OpenAI's ChatGPT.

Adobe announced a plugin that brings more than 70 of its creative applications to OpenAI's ChatGPT, expanding on earlier integrations of Photoshop, Acrobat and Adobe Express. After adding the extension in ChatGPT's plugin menu, users can call the tools by typing @Adobe followed by their request. The plugin is optimized for OpenAI's Codex coding environment and the recently launched Work suite, but it also functions without a Creative Cloud login.

Logging in allows users to store work across sessions and tap into Adobe Firefly's generative AI capabilities. Adobe positions the offering as a way to perform tasks such as photo editing, video creation and PDF generation within the chatbot, while noting that its full desktop apps remain necessary for detailed, precision work. The plugin is available worldwide starting today.

Why it matters

It lets millions of ChatGPT users tap into Adobe's professional creative suite directly from a chatbot.
