Almost half of Indian workers plan to switch jobs, study shows top employers

A Randstad survey finds 46% of Indian employees intend to change jobs within six months, with Google ranked as the most attractive employer.

According to the Randstad Employer Brand Research 2026, which surveyed more than 1.75 lakh participants across 34 markets and close to 3,500 in India, 46% of Indian workers aim to change jobs within the next six months and 32% have already done so in the past half-year. The study placed Google at the top of India's most attractive employer brands, with Tata Group and Amazon in second and third place, and Samsung India, Infosys, Reliance Industries, ITC Group, Hindustan Unilever, Mahindra & Mahindra and Dell Technologies completing the top ten.

Respondents highlighted work-life balance, equal opportunity, career progression, compensation and corporate reputation as primary factors influencing employer choice. The report describes a shift toward a "Balanced Employer" model that blends meaningful work, inclusivity, wellbeing, flexibility and competitive rewards. Narayan Iyer of Randstad India warned that employers must move beyond basic perks to meet rising talent expectations, especially as digital talent values salary and growth prospects above work-life balance.

Why it matters

The findings signal a major talent shift in India, pressuring companies to improve employer branding and retention strategies.
