Amazon Secures International Rights to New Baywatch Reboot and Original Series

Amazon Prime Video announced that it will stream the forthcoming Baywatch reboot in most European markets—such as France, Germany, Italy and Spain—as well as in Canada, Latin America and India. In addition to the new series, Amazon will license the full back catalogue of the original Baywatch, covering all nine original seasons and the two seasons released under the Baywatch Hawaii title, though the Baywatch Nights spin-off is not part of the package.

The reboot stars Stephen Amell, Jessica Belkin, Shay Mitchell, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, Noah Beck and Brooks Nader, with Matt Nix serving as showrunner and executive producer alongside McG, Michael Berk, Greg Bonann, Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz. McG will direct the premiere episode. The twelve-episode first season is slated to debut on Fox in January 2027 and will later become available on Prime Video. Fremantle and Fox Entertainment are handling production and distribution, with Fremantle negotiating the Amazon agreement.
