AMC Global Media signs $500 million co-exclusive streaming pact for The Walking Dead universe
AMC Global Media will license the entire Walking Dead franchise to both Netflix and AMC+ starting in 2027 under a five-year, $500 million deal.
AMC Global Media announced a five-year, $500 million co-exclusive licensing arrangement that will make the Walking Dead franchise available on both Netflix and AMC+ beginning in 2027. The deal encompasses the original series and six related titles, amounting to 371 episodes, with each series launching in different territories as existing agreements lapse. Netflix, which has held exclusive U.S. streaming rights since 2011, will continue to stream the shows in regions including the United Kingdom, Italy, Australia and New Zealand.
For the first time, AMC+ will be able to offer the flagship series to its subscribers. Lori Conkling of Netflix and Kristin Dolan of AMC Global Media both praised the deal as a way to expand the franchise’s reach worldwide. The partnership aims to create a single global destination for all Walking Dead content, enhancing accessibility for fans across markets.
