Amnesty warns India's arms exports to Israel may aid Gaza genocide

Amnesty International released a report documenting India's continued arms sales to Israel, highlighting a substantial risk that the equipment is used in the Gaza genocide. Researchers traced 2,596 shipments after the October 2023 Israeli assault, uncovering over 390,000 small-arms components, more than 560,000 explosive-ordnance parts and nearly 300 vehicle components destined for Israeli defence firms. Trade data reveal Indian companies supplying Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, IMI Systems Limited and MCT Materials, which feed Israel's military supply chain.
The group says it excluded any items possibly meant for civilian use, underscoring the scale of the military-grade exports. Amnesty criticises India for failing to align its arms-export controls with international law, noting the country's deepening defence ties with Israel despite the International Court of Justice's provisional measures to halt genocide. Secretary-general Agnes Callamard called the findings evidence of India's ongoing support for Israel's war effort.
