Angel Reese's Barbie Doll Debuts at Atlanta Dream Game Tonight
Mattel released a signature Angel Reese Barbie to coincide with a "Barbie Game Day" as the Atlanta Dream host the Las Vegas Aces at State Farm Arena.
In July, Mattel announced a signature Angel Reese Barbie dressed in Reebok’s Angel Reese 1 basketball shoes and matching pink gear, honoring her achievements and charitable foundation. The company said the doll underscores Reese’s push for equity among girls and underrepresented groups. Reese, who joined the Atlanta Dream in April, expressed that the doll represents a dream realized and a call for confidence.
To launch the product, the Dream is hosting a "Barbie Game Day" on Aug. 3 at State Farm Arena, featuring a matchup against the Las Vegas Aces, limited-edition merchandise, and a live stream on Peacock, NBCSN, and local stations. Only one other WNBA player, Sue Bird, has previously received a custom Barbie. The event aims to blend sport, branding and community outreach.
