Netflix disclosed in an SEC filing that Anne Sweeney left its board of directors on July 26, 2026, after serving for more than eleven years. The company stated that the resignation was unrelated to any disagreement. Sweeney, a former co-chair of Disney Media Networks and president of Disney/one outlet Television Group, was appointed to the board in March 2015 and participated in the compensation committee.
Her career spans over three decades, during which she oversaw Disney’s global cable, broadcast and satellite properties and launched more than 118 Disney channels. Prior to Disney, she led FX Networks from 1993 to 1996 and spent over a decade at Viacom’s Nickelodeon.
