Anthropic announced a six-year, $10 billion cloud-computing partnership with Volta, a newly founded AI-cloud startup. Volta will deliver the compute capacity required for Anthropic’s Claude system by operating a 133-megawatt data centre in Norway. Development of the site will be supported by Bitdeer, a cryptocurrency-mining firm, and will rely on Nvidia’s Vera Rubin AI chips, as Volta participates in Nvidia’s Cloud Partner program.
