Apple lifts trade-in values and adds several Android models to its program
Apple has raised its trade-in credits for many of its devices and introduced new Android phones to the scheme, with some offers increasing by over $100.
Apple updated its trade-in program, boosting the resale value of a broad lineup that includes iPhones, iPads, Macs, Apple Watches and certain Android devices. The most notable increase applies to the Mac Studio, whose credit rose by $260, while other products saw lifts of roughly $5 to $20 and some surpassed $100. The company also added several Android phones—such as Samsung’s Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G, Google’s Pixel 9 series and OnePlus’s 13 models—to the eligible list.
Conversely, trade-in values for a few older Android models, including the Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G and various Pixel 8 and 7 devices, were reduced modestly. These changes follow Apple’s earlier price hikes across its product range and complement a newly launched “Upgrade” leasing option aimed at easing the cost of its premium hardware.
Why it matters
Higher trade-in values and new Android options could make Apple devices more affordable for consumers.
