Apple may broaden Watch lineup with new sizes and a display-less model
Apple is reportedly weighing a major redesign of its smartwatch line, including additional case sizes, fresh colors, and even a version without a screen.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple is planning a substantial overhaul of its smartwatch portfolio, though details remain unsettled. The firm is considering a range of new form factors, including varied screen sizes and a potential model that omits a display altogether, to stay competitive with rivals like Whoop. In addition, Apple may bring back the ceramic case option and roll out fresh colorways and band designs around 2026 or 2027, alongside health-tracking upgrades.
The current Series 12 and Ultra 4 watches are anticipated to be modest refreshes rather than a full redesign. Gurman also notes that Apple could expand beyond the Ultra and Hermès lines with both premium and lower-priced options, possibly undercutting the Apple Watch SE. Any definitive changes are still projected to arrive in the next one to two years, with the next-gen Watch likely featuring an updated Siri integration.
