Aroma-Zone expands UK footprint with education-first, low-price beauty model

French retailer Aroma-Zone, known for ingredient transparency and low-price, high-quality products, is rolling out additional stores across the UK after a successful debut.

Aroma-Zone has turned the French beauty market on its head by prioritising ingredient knowledge, in-house formulation and low-price, high-quality products over flashy marketing. With annual growth exceeding 50 percent and over 52 million units sold last year, the chain earned the rank of France’s second-favorite retail brand, outpacing Amazon and others. Its UK debut opened at Westfield London, and the firm now plans a measured expansion into other British cities.

CEO Sabrina Herloury-Rouget stresses that price does not dictate quality and that the brand’s spend is directed toward research, sourcing and French manufacturing. Stores are designed as educational hubs where staff act as consultants, helping customers build routines without needing to become cosmetic chemists. The strategy seeks to build long-term trust rather than short-term hype, betting that British consumers will value transparency and expertise.

Why it matters

The approach could shift beauty retail toward trust and education, challenging the hype-driven model.
