Atiq Ahmed's son Abaan killed in Jhansi car collision

Authorities in Jhansi reported that Abaan Ahmed, the son of former gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, died after his Hyundai Creta collided with a divider, also killing his friend Sonu. The vehicle was en route from Prayagraj to Jhansi and carried five people when the accident occurred. Police have not provided details about the remaining occupants.
This incident adds to a history of violent events linked to Atiq Ahmed’s family, such as the 2023 STF encounter that killed his 19-year-old son Asad Ahmed and an associate, as well as the shooting deaths of Atiq Ahmed and his brother Khalid Azim alias Ashraf in Prayagraj. Those earlier cases involved alleged involvement in the murder of lawyer Umesh Pal and other criminal charges.
