Aubrey Plaza has announced the arrival of a baby girl with Christopher Abbott, with the birth taking place in the last week of July. Photographs obtained show the newborn being carried around New York City on Sunday. In a statement released by Plaza and the family of her estranged husband Jeff Baena, they thanked supporters and asked for privacy amid what they called an "unimaginable tragedy."

Plaza described her emotional state as a "giant ocean of just awfulness," yet noted that close friends continue to make her laugh. The two actors, who previously worked together on the film Black Bear and an Off-Broadway play, have kept the timeline of their romance private. Abbott had previously spoken about the pregnancy on a May interview, calling it a "very exciting" development. The news follows Baena’s suicide in January 2025, which Plaza referenced when discussing her grief.
