Australian mother and daughter deny ISIS-related slavery charges ahead of trial
Kawsar Ahmad, 54, and her daughter Zeinab Ahmad, 31, pleaded not guilty to slavery offences stemming from their time under ISIS control and returned to Australia in May.
The pair, identified as former ISIS brides, faced accusations of slavery for actions while living under Islamic State rule. After years in a Syrian detention facility, they arrived back in Australia this May. Both entered not-guilty pleas in court. A Supreme Court trial is now scheduled, with a directions hearing set for August 21.
