Barcelona explores loan deal for Darwin Nunez amid Cancelo negotiations

Anonymous insiders say Barcelona has been offered a loan for forward Darwin Nunez by Al-Hilal, with his representation by Jorge Mendes, who also manages Joao Cancelo. The Catalan side is on the verge of sealing Cancelo’s permanent transfer on a two-year contract worth about €10 million, allowing him to play on either flank. Nunez arrived at Al-Hilal for €55 million after a €85 million purchase from Benfica, but has yet to find form in the Middle East.

While Barcelona’s main striker target remains Julian Alvarez, the club is keeping the Nunez loan as a fallback. Should the Alvarez deal collapse, the temporary signing could provide depth and revive Nunez’s career, especially after his World Cup performances. The move would also keep Ferran Torres competitive for a potential transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
