Bayern open to €20m sale of Hiroki Itō but no bids yet

Bayern Munich indicated a willingness to let go of Japanese international Hiroki Itō for a fee near €20 million, although no formal bids have been received. Club sport director Max Eberl emphasized that Bayern is not actively seeking a buyer, but would facilitate a transfer should Itō decide his prospects for consistent first-team football are slim. Recent additions, including Nathaniel “Nene” Brown on the left and the established centre-back trio of Min-jae, Jonathan Tah and Dayot Upamecano, have tightened competition for defensive spots.

Itō’s tenure at Bayern has been hampered by injuries, limiting him to just 16 Bundesliga matches in his second season after arriving from Stuttgart. With only a month left in the transfer window, he must choose between staying to fight for a place or moving elsewhere for more playing time.
