Bayern's Jeju friendly tests stamina before Hong Kong leg of summer tour

Bayern Munich beat Jeju SK 2-1 in a humid night match on Jeju Island, then prepared to travel to Hong Kong for the next tour stop.

In a late-night friendly on Jeju Island, Bayern Munich secured a 2-1 win over Jeju SK, with captain Vincent Kompany noting the squad's strong intensity amid high heat and humidity. The match featured a mix of 16-year-olds Filip Pavić and Bastian Assomo playing alongside World Cup participants such as Hiroki Ito, Minjae Kim and Luis Díaz, while Kompany rotated every outfield player. Jeju, accustomed to the conditions and sitting seventh in the K League, initially held the tempo, but Bayern asserted dominance in the second half with superior physicality and technical skill.

Club president Herbert Hainer described the venue as offering "perfect conditions," and the team will travel 1,750 kilometres to Hong Kong for the next Audi Summer Tour fixture, where they will face Aston Villa. Jonathan Tah said the extended trip aims to build a special team spirit similar to last season's Club World Cup campaign. The match will also be streamed on FC Bayern TV PLUS.
