Ben Affleck and Jamie Ding clinch $1 million on Millionaire, a year after Matt Damon

In the latest episode of one outlet’s “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” actor Ben Affleck teamed up with trivia champion Jamie Ding to secure the $1 million grand prize. Faced with a question about which turkey names were never pardoned by a U.S. president, they used a lifeline to ask host Jimmy Kimmel, who guessed “Spaghetti & Meatball.” After a second lifeline to Ding’s friend Stephen Morrison yielded no answer, Affleck opted to trust Kimmel’s suggestion, which proved correct.

The win, the fifth million-dollar payout during Jimmy Kimmel’s run as host, will benefit Affleck’s Eastern Congo Initiative, a U.S.-based NGO supporting communities in the African region. This triumph follows a similar achievement by Affleck’s “Good Will Hunting” co-star Matt Damon, who won a year earlier with assistance from Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings. Earlier winners under Kimmel include chef David Chang, actors Ike and Alan Barinholtz, and “The Office” alumni Oscar Nuñez and Kate Flannery.
