Bending Spoons agrees to acquire Airtable for $1.28 billion in cash
Bending Spoons announced a $1.28 billion cash purchase of Airtable, marking its first deal since the recent IPO.
Bending Spoons disclosed that it will buy spreadsheet and database startup Airtable for $1.28 billion in cash, its first acquisition after going public in July. The transaction places Airtable’s valuation at approximately $2.25 billion, reflecting its cash-and-equivalents balance. Luca Ferrrai, the founder of Bending Spoons, said the combination will accelerate innovation for a company whose annual recurring revenue grew over 20% year-over-year to about $480 million as of June 2026.
Airtable, founded in 2013, recently launched the Superagent AI orchestration platform and claims more than 500,000 client organizations, including 80% of the Fortune 100. Bending Spoons typically acquires firms at a discount, trims staff, and seeks profitability, having previously bought Evernote, WeTransfer, EventBrite and Vimeo.
