Beverly Hills Chateau de Liberte Listed at $25 Million to Fund Arts Foundation

Gloria Kaufman's Beverly Hills residence, known as Chateau de Liberte, has been placed on the market for $25 million, a price rise from the $18.2 million paid in 2012. The estate, spanning roughly 5,900 sq ft, was crafted by architect Richard Landry and includes a grand foyer, skylit living room, formal dining area, and a detached guest house, all set on nearly an acre with a pool and spa. Douglas Elliman representatives Rachelle Rosten and Kelly deLaat are handling the listing, and the sale’s proceeds will be directed to the Glorya Kaufman Foundation.

Kaufman, who died in August 2025 at age 95, built her fortune with Kaufman & Broad (now KB Home) and later funded major dance initiatives, including a $20 million gift to the Music Center and the endowment of USC’s Glorya Kaufman School of Dance. Recent auctions by Abell Auction Company featured pieces from her collection, underscoring the estate’s cultural significance.
