Bihar police nab man posing as IAS officer and Doval's undercover agent, seize Tesla and liquor

Police in Khagaria district arrested Manish Gupta, who claimed to be an IAS officer and a covert operative for Ajit Doval, and recovered a Tesla with Full Self-Driving, liquor and other valuables.

Manish Gupta was taken into custody in Bihar's Khagaria district after police received a tip that he was masquerading as an IAS officer and an undercover agent under National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Superintendent Bhanu Pratap Singh reported that Gupta showed a Central Vigilance Commission card and claimed to work for Doval, but preliminary checks disproved his story. A raid on his residence in Jamalpur yielded over 31 litres of imported foreign liquor, a large stock of beer, a rare Tesla with Full Self-Driving capability bearing a "Government of India" sign, a Tata Safari, five iPhones, numerous credit and debit cards, cheque books, and two barasingha horns, which are illegal under the Wildlife Protection Act.

The seizure also included a Tesla, a vehicle scarcely seen in India. The Economic Offences Unit of Bihar Police is now examining Gupta's holdings for signs of fraud, deception or corruption, and a broader investigation will assess the full extent of his alleged impersonation and illegal acquisitions.
