A bomb threat received Friday morning led Pasadena police to evacuate Huntington Hospital and redirect emergency patients to other facilities.
On Friday morning, Huntington Hospital in Pasadena was shut to outside visitors after police received a bomb threat allegedly from a known group. Pasadena officers, accompanied by K-9 teams, conducted a thorough sweep of the facility while keeping it operational for patients and staff under enhanced screening. Hospital spokesperson Dorey Huston confirmed the situation and said elective surgeries and regular doctor visits were being postponed.
Emergency patients are being diverted to other regional hospitals. The hospital, an affiliate of Cedars-Sinai and the only level II trauma center in the San Gabriel Valley, continues to serve inpatients while authorities investigate the warning.
