Bowling star Jakob Butturff, eight-time PBA champion, passes away at 32

The Professional Bowlers Association announced that Jakob Butturff, an eight-time PBA Tour champion, died unexpectedly on July 31 at the age of 32. No details about the circumstances of his death were released. Tom Clark, the PBA commissioner, highlighted Butturff’s unique delivery and his ability to secure victories across various events, recalling his major triumph at the 2019 USBC Masters and a televised 300 game during the 2020 PBA Tour Finals.

Over his career, Butturff amassed 27 regional titles and was selected for Team USA on seven occasions. He was born in Las Vegas and later resided in Phoenix, Arizona, as well as Binghamton, New York. The bowling community mourned the loss of a respected and talented athlete.
