During a training spar on 24 July in Denmark, British boxer Raven Chapman collapsed and was rushed by helicopter to a nearby hospital. Medical staff diagnosed a brain haematoma accompanied by cerebral oedema, prompting immediate emergency surgery to control the bleed and reduce swelling. Following the operation, doctors induced a coma to aid her recovery, and her management company Vote Boxing confirmed she is being treated while arrangements are made for her return to a UK facility for further rehabilitation.
The Norwich-born fighter, who has a 10-win professional record and previously contested the WBC featherweight title in Saudi Arabia, is currently surrounded by family in Denmark. Support efforts include a GoFundMe fundraiser and public encouragement from figures such as former promoter Frank Warren, who expressed hopes for her safe return home.
