Water service to the immediate vicinity was temporarily halted, and San Vicente Boulevard stays closed between Lindenhurst and Orlando avenues while repairs continue, expected to conclude around 2:30 p.m. A nearby segment of Sunset Boulevard also remains closed after a major break last week, with no firm timeline for reopening. LADWP did not explain why the pipe failed, but the event adds to a string of recent ruptures in Venice, Hollywood, and West Hollywood, highlighting the city’s aging water infrastructure, where roughly 29 % of pipes are over 80 years old.
