Bus crash on Himachal road kills seven and injures eleven

A bus collision near Chalunj Mor in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district left at least seven dead and eleven hurt.

Early Saturday morning, a bus traveling on the Teesa-Bairagarh road near Chalunj Mor in the Bairagarh Tissa area of Chamba district overturned, killing at least seven people and wounding eleven others. Authorities estimate that between 20 and 25 passengers were on board at the time. The injured were transported to medical facilities, with six patients referred to Pt Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College and Hospital for advanced care.

A joint rescue effort involving the National Disaster Response Force, police, home guards and fire services was dispatched to the site. The district Disaster Management Authority confirmed the incident occurred at about 7:15 a.m. Chamba superintendent of police Vijay Saklani noted that investigators have not yet determined the cause of the crash. Details about the victims' identities are still pending.
