Care Can’t Wait Action rolls out ads targeting GOP reps over caregiving costs
The advocacy group Care Can’t Wait Action will debut a series of digital ads in six swing districts, accusing Republican lawmakers of allowing high caregiving expenses.
Starting next week, Care Can’t Wait Action will launch a six-figure digital advertising push in a half-dozen battleground congressional districts. The ads compare the price of senior, disability, and child care, as well as the lack of paid leave, to the median income of voters in those districts. They specifically name Republican representatives Rob Bresnahan, Brian Fitzpatrick, Ryan Mackenzie, Scott Perry, Thomas Barrett and Juan Ciscomani.
A seventh ad is slated for the district of Rep. John James after his state primary. The campaign follows polling by Impact Research showing that 70% of voters in these areas are current or prospective caregivers.
Why it matters
The ads could influence voter sentiment in pivotal districts by linking Republican policies to high caregiving expenses.
