Cava Announces First Northern California Locations, Starting in San Jose
Cava will open its inaugural Northern California restaurant next year at Santana Row in San Jose and has plans for two additional sites near San Francisco.
Cava, the Mediterranean-style fast-casual chain, will launch its first Northern California restaurant next year, locating the initial site at 3055 Olin Avenue, Suite 1035, within San Jose’s Santana Row shopping center. Jeff Gaul, the company’s chief development officer, highlighted the opening as a response to persistent requests from Bay Area customers. In addition to the San Jose outlet, Cava confirmed that two further restaurants will be established nearer to San Francisco, though the exact addresses and timelines were not revealed.
The company expects each new restaurant to create roughly 25 to 40 jobs for local workers. Since its first store opened in 2011, Cava has expanded to more than 450 locations across the United States, with approximately 45 sites already operating in California. The brand offers customizable grain bowls, salads and pitas, featuring menu items such as the Harissa Avocado Bowl and Greek Chicken Pita.
Why it matters
The expansion brings new jobs and dining options to the Bay Area, reflecting Cava's rapid growth in the U.S. market.
