CBI submits chargesheet against 13 suspects in NEET-UG paper leak case

The Central Bureau of Investigation, through its Economic Offences Wing, submitted a chargesheet to the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi naming thirteen individuals alleged to have orchestrated the leak of the NEET-UG examination paper. The charge sheet invokes several provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act. The accused—Yash Yadav, Mangilal Biwal, Dinesh Biwal, Vikas Biwal, Subham Khairnar, Dhananjay Lokhande, Prahalad Kulkarni, Tejas Harshad Kumar, Dr Manoj Shirure, Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, Manisha Waghmare, Manisha Mandhare and Manisha Sanjay Hawaldar—are all held in judicial custody.

Their case will be placed before a special fast-track court designated for paper-leak matters on Wednesday. The incident triggered widespread public outrage, prompting investigations across multiple agencies. It also led to the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan on July 25 and the withdrawal of the Cockroach Janta Party's 36-day protest against alleged examination irregularities.
