Chef Jacob Greig pleads guilty to manslaughter in teen stabbing near Sydney

Jacob Greig, employed as a chef at the Bargo Sports Centre, appeared by video link from Parklea Correctional Centre to enter a guilty plea to manslaughter for the death of a 15-year-old boy near Wilton, on the outskirts of Sydney. The teenager, part of a group of campers who had used LSD and marijuana, confronted Greig's vehicle, attempted to climb inside, and behaved erratically. Greig exited the car, threatened the teen, and inflicted a single stab wound to the boy’s forearm with a chef's knife, later claiming he acted in excessive self-defence.

Court documents confirm the wound was fatal and that the defence’s belief of danger was unreasonable. The charge was reduced from murder, and Greig will return to Campbelltown District Court in September for sentencing.
