Chelsea asks £65 million for Nicolas Jackson as Villa weigh record offer

Chelsea have set a £65 million price tag on striker Nicolas Jackson, and Aston Villa are considering a formal bid for the player.

Chelsea have placed a £65 million asking price on Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson, a figure that would set a new club-record purchase for Aston Villa. The Villans, having secured more than £190 million from player sales this summer, are reportedly preparing an official offer, with manager Unai Emery keen on reuniting with his former Villarreal talent. Jackson came back to Chelsea after a season-long loan at Bayern Munich, scoring 11 times in 34 games, though Bayern declined a £70 million option to buy him outright.

Chelsea’s head coach Xabi Alonso indicated the club will assess options daily, acknowledging Jackson’s quality while leaving the door open to a sale. The forward originally joined Chelsea for £32 million and has drawn interest from several clubs as the Blues continue their pre-season tour of Australia and Asia.

Why it matters

The deal could set a transfer record for Aston Villa and reshape Chelsea's squad ahead of the new season.
