At a press briefing held at Missouri Western State University, Chiefs president Mark Donovan detailed the development process for the franchise’s next home. He highlighted a recent fan-feedback study that emphasized louder acoustics and superior tailgating as top priorities, which were fed to the design teams. After reviewing a wide range of concepts—from futuristic to traditional—the group aimed to honor Arrowhead Stadium’s heritage while presenting a bold, modern aesthetic.
Donovan praised MANICA and its founder David Manica for embracing this dual mandate. The proposed venue will be fully enclosed with a translucent ETFE roof, seat about 70,000 fans, and feature a Drum Deck and a prominent Chiefs Ring of Honor. Construction is projected to cost $3 billion and the stadium is expected to open in Kansas City, Kansas, in 2031.
