Cinemark posts record $1.1 billion Q2 revenue as box office rebounds

Cinemark reported $1.09 billion in revenue for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, a 15.5% increase year-over-year, driven by strong ticket and concession sales.

Cinemark announced that its second-quarter revenue topped $1 billion for the first time, reaching $1.09 billion, a 15.5% rise from the same period last year. Ticket sales hit a record $540 million, while concession revenue set a new quarterly high at $433.3 million. CEO Sean Gamble praised Hollywood studios for delivering a compelling lineup that resonated with audiences, citing releases such as The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Michael, Toy Story 5, and horror titles like Obsession and Backrooms.

The company posted net earnings of $140.8 million, or $1.20 per share, compared with $94.7 million, or $0.81 per share, a year earlier, and adjusted EBITDA grew to $294 million from $232.2 million. Looking ahead, Cinemark expects the momentum to continue with upcoming films like Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. On the same day, Marcus Theatres reported $150.6 million in revenue, a 14% increase, noting that Toy Story 5 drove its strongest June opening weekend and that average ticket prices rose about 5%.
