CINTAA refutes rumors of Executive Committee dissolution, cites constitutional rules

The Cine & TV Artistes’ Association, representing actors across film, television, digital and live performance sectors, has publicly dismissed allegations that its Executive Committee has been dissolved. According to the union, its constitution stipulates that dissolution can occur only if more than half of the elected members resign, which has not happened. Vacancies that have arisen were filled by the next-highest vote-receivers, ensuring continuity.

CINTAA criticized the Federation of Western India Cine Employees for issuing directives it deems contrary to the union’s autonomous framework. Legal counsel Suvigya Vidyarthi affirmed that the Executive Committee remains fully operational and will protect the association’s independence. The statement emphasized that internal disagreements do not undermine the union’s legitimacy or its role in safeguarding actors’ rights.
