Climate activists stage mock detective raid on McConnell's office over his absence

Two Climate Defiance members dressed as detectives entered Senator Mitch McConnell's Senate office in Washington, D.C., to demand information about his prolonged disappearance.

Climate Defiance activists Michael Greenberg and Davidson Boswell staged a performance as detectives, touring Washington, D.C., and interrogating various passersby about the whereabouts of Senator Mitch McConnell. Their route included a subway, a restaurant, and the Heritage Foundation, where they joked about the institution’s role in “making racism.” Inside McConnell’s Senate office, Greenberg asked a staffer for the senator’s location; the employee politely refused to disclose details.

The pair also approached Senator Raphael Warnock, who said he had not seen McConnell and was praying for his recovery. The demonstration comes amid speculation about McConnell’s health following a June hospital stay for a fall, pneumonia and a reported cardiac arrest. Since then, the senator has issued only brief statements and limited photographs, fueling public and media scrutiny. A recent survey showed a majority of Americans want elected officials to disclose medical issues that could affect their duties.
