Coach McCarthy says Steelers injuries less serious than feared at camp
Head coach Mike McCarthy reported that the Steelers' recent injuries are not as severe as initially thought.
In the opening phase of Pittsburgh Steelers training camp, a spate of injuries raised concerns, yet head coach Mike McCarthy offered reassurance that the situation is manageable. Speaking to reporter Chris Adamski, McCarthy clarified that safety DeShon Elliott's hamstring strain and the injuries to Joey Porter Jr., Jalen Ramsey and Donte Kent, who are on the physically unable to perform list, do not pose high risk. He also suggested that the conditions of rookie offensive tackle Max Iheanachor, who hurt his shoulder, and veteran cornerback Brandin Echols, dealing with a lower-leg issue, are improving.
The coach emphasized there is no immediate cause for alarm among the injured roster. Steelers Wire will continue to monitor and update the status of these players throughout camp.
