Colonel Sanders' historic Kentucky home and memorabilia to be auctioned next week

After more than 50 years of preservation by the Settle family, a trove of Colonel Harland Sanders' belongings will be put up for sale in Shelbyville, Kentucky. The lot includes Blackwood Hall, the couple's longtime home where Sanders trained franchisees, the Claudia Sanders Dinner House restaurant, and numerous personal effects like his iconic black bow tie, a vintage cash register and an engraved pressure cooker. Business records, photographs and a leather planner containing handwritten notes on the famous 11 herbs and spices are also part of the offering, though the original recipe is not confirmed.

The Menish Group Auction & Real Estate is organizing the event, with a public viewing on July 27 and the auction commencing at 6 p.m. on July 28 for qualified bidders. Items once owned by the founder and his wife, Claudia, provide a rare glimpse into the early days of the KFC empire.
