Commanders bring John Riggins to broadcast team and assign Darrell Green to stadium outreach
The Washington Commanders announced Hall of Famers John Riggins and Darrell Green will assume new roles, with Riggins joining preseason broadcasts and Green leading community outreach for the upcoming domed stadium.
At a fan-focused training camp event, Commanders President Mark Clouse revealed that John Riggins will serve on the team’s preseason broadcast crew and take part in special events. The organization also confirmed that Darrell Green will head community-engagement efforts aimed at rallying fans and civic leaders behind the planned domed stadium on the former RFK Stadium site, slated for a 2030 opening. Riggins’ jersey number 44 is set to be retired this season.
