After securing a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games, Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain attended a dinner in Glasgow at a popular Indian restaurant frequented by visiting sports teams. While reviewing the décor, she observed that the map of India displayed there excluded the country's Northeast region. Borgohain expressed that the omission was hurtful, especially as a native of Assam, and asked the establishment to amend it.
Boxing Federation of India president Ajay Singh, who was also present, said the matter was handled calmly and the restaurant agreed to update the map.
