Conservative analyst blames Trump, GOP and MAGA voters for economic woes

Tom Giovanetti, who leads the Institute for Policy Innovation, used social media to denounce Donald Trump and the Republican Party, arguing that their focus on personal agendas has created a "sick country" and a weak economy. He outlined four reasons: a president distracted by hobbies, a Congress obsessed with loyalty to that president, and primary voters whose devotion outweighs concern for the nation. Giovanetti also questioned support for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Trump loyalist facing multiple scandals, noting the state GOP’s role in his nomination.

His remarks coincided with a Labor Department report showing July job losses of 23,000 and the lowest wage growth in five years, which economists described as a troubling labor market. Conservative voices, including Andrew Eastmond of the American Enterprise Institute, echoed the sentiment that the promised "Golden Age" is an illusion.
