Cooper Webb clinches WSX opener in Calgary after weather-cut race

At McMahon Stadium in Calgary, Cooper Webb secured the win at the opening round of the World Supercross series after the finale was shortened by a thunderstorm. He had finished second in Moto 1 and claimed victory in Moto 2, leading the Main Event when officials called a red flag. Dean Wilson, who posted two third-place results, earned the runner-up spot, while Webb's Rick Ware Racing teammate Justin Hill captured the first moto win but dropped to third overall after a fifth place in the second moto.

Vince Friese, riding a Stark electric dirt bike, achieved fourth overall with fourth and sixth place finishes. Jason Anderson's title defence was hampered by a crash in the opening moto and a ninth-place finish in the second, leaving him with only two points for the night.
