Coroner concludes escort firm owners knew fate of missing Sydney woman

After a 32-year investigation, Deputy State Coroner Joan Baptie determined that Select Companions’ owners, Jane King and Zoran Stanojevic, lied to police about their knowledge of Revelle Balmain’s disappearance in Sydney on 5 November 1994. The coroner criticized both owners for providing implausible and calculated accounts, noting that Stanojevic had alleged ties to the Yugoslavian mafia. Evidence showed Balmain had been standing up clients linked to organized crime on the night she vanished, and her belongings were later scattered across Kingsford.

Although Gavin Samer was identified as a major person of interest, no motive could be proven. Baptie concluded the investigation had overlooked other leads and sent the file to the Unsolved Homicide Unit, while a $1 million reward remains active.
