Costco worker kills coworker in jealous hit-and-run after parking-lot hug

In North Issaquah, Washington, Costco employee Tyler Martin Sorensen, 22, allegedly acted on a possessive obsession with coworker Samantha Peterson. After witnessing Peterson hug fellow employee Jonathon Langdon in the Costco headquarters parking lot, Sorensen pursued Langdon, who was riding a motorcycle, and deliberately collided with him. The impact threw Langdon into a roadside sign, resulting in his death at the scene.

Sorensen failed to seek medical help, inspected his car for damage, and continued driving until a state patrol officer stopped him for speeding. Following his father's discovery of the incident, Sorensen returned to the site and surrendered to police, where he admitted intent. Prosecutors have charged him with second-degree murder, second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, and criminal attempt, and have sought $2 million bail.
