Country singer Ruston Kelly vows lasting sobriety after drug relapse and golf cart crash

Ruston Kelly revealed that a June golf-cart incident that fractured his arm resulted in a three-day supply of fentanyl, morphine, ketamine, dilaudid and oxycodone, followed by a month of Percocet. He admitted to escalating his use of these medications, eventually chewing pills and hiding his consumption. The experience reignited his struggle with amphetamine addiction, leading him to describe a “spiritual surrender” and to recognize his lifelong substance-use disease.

On July 26 he decided to end the cycle, sharing a gold Narcotics Anonymous token as a symbol of his clean-living milestone. Kelly now vows to avoid all drugs, alcohol, THC, and is working on quitting nicotine, aiming to remain sober one day at a time.
