Couple Sheds 220 Pounds After Fertility Diagnosis Sparks Lifestyle Overhaul
After learning he had nonobstructive azoospermia, Isaiah Caldwell and his wife Amanda transformed their diets and exercise routines, losing a combined 220 pounds.
When a fertility specialist told Isaiah Caldwell that his semen contained no sperm, the couple responded by overhauling every aspect of their lives. Isaiah switched to a carnivore diet, eliminated fast food, and started lifting weights twice weekly, shedding more than 200 pounds to reach 225 pounds. Amanda, who was not obese but sedentary, joined him at the gym, lost ten pounds, and entered a bikini bodybuilding competition in Houston, finishing fourth.
Their shared commitment birthed the coaching firm Memento Mori Fitness, which now serves clients online and in person, including several of Isaiah's relatives. They are also preparing to open a gym named Lyft24 in Eureka, Missouri, later this year. Despite the health challenges, the Caldwells continue to explore adoption and other paths to building a family.
