Court affirms dismissal of ISIS victims' lawsuit against Deutsche Bank

Families of three U.S. citizens who were abducted, enslaved and murdered by ISIS had sued Deutsche Bank under the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act, alleging the bank aided terrorist-linked accounts. The district court dismissed the case, and the appellate panel confirmed that dismissal, finding the plaintiffs failed to prove the bank’s actions went beyond ordinary business dealings. The decision leaves the estates without a legal remedy against the bank.
