During a break in the India-Sri Lanka Test series, Rishabh Pant took to X in the early hours to directly appeal to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for assistance in securing government land to build his first house in his native state. Pant said he has been searching for appropriate land for three years but has faced difficulties finding a suitable plot. He emphasized that he wishes to buy the land at the prevailing government rates rather than receive it as a gratuitous allocation.
The post, which went viral, underscored his intention to move his base from Delhi back to Uttarakhand and contribute to the region’s development. Born in Roorkee, Haridwar district, Pant has risen to prominence as a leading wicket-keeper-batter for India while still representing Delhi domestically. The plea arrives shortly after he was announced as Uttarakhand’s highest individual tax payer for the 2025-26 financial year, having paid Rs 23.84 crore in income tax.
