Crystal Palace navigates UEFA spending limits while eyeing new signings

Crystal Palace's summer is pivotal as Pierre Sage takes charge and the team prepares for another Europa League campaign after winning the Conference League. UEFA's squad cost ratio requires the club to keep total spending on wages, transfers and agent fees at 70% of its revenue, a tighter ceiling than the Premier League's 85% for clubs not in Europe. So far Palace have not disbursed a transfer fee, but negotiations are advancing for 19-year-old Real Salt Lake winger Zavier Gozo.

The Eagles have also secured free-transfer targets in former Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oscar Mingueza, whose deal with Celta Vigo has ended. To balance the books, the club may offload one or two squad members, with Brennan Johnson reportedly drawing external interest.
