Daughter urges public help in search for missing Murwillumbah farmer Yvonne Whear

On February 19, 73-year-old Yvonne Whear was recorded on CCTV heading toward her farm near Murwillumbah after attending a TAFE art class and stopping at a Shell station. Her boots and hat were later found at the property, and phone logs show she accessed videos and voicemail before 5 p.m., but she and her vehicle have not been seen since. Her daughter, Gillian Hallac, described the emotional toll and suspects the car may have been deliberately concealed, urging anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Inspector Paul Fenwick said police have committed significant resources, including drones, helicopters, and sonar-equipped divers, searching from Murwillumbah up to Tomewin near the Queensland border and along the Rous and Tweed Rivers to Fingal Head. Authorities stress there is no sign she chose to disappear and continue to request tips, especially dash-cam recordings. The appeal coincides with National Missing Persons Week, highlighting the ongoing need for answers.
