Dave Bautista in Negotiations to Replace Ryan Hurst as Kratos on Amazon's 'God of War'

One outlet's reports that Dave Bautista is currently negotiating to assume the role of Kratos in Amazon Prime Video's adaptation of the 'God of War' franchise, after Ryan Hurst suffered a torn bicep that postponed production until 2027 and led to his replacement. The series, a joint effort by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios with PlayStation Productions, aims to restart filming this fall. Bautista's established relationship with Amazon and his well-maintained physique are cited as reasons he could step into the part without extensive preparation.

The two-season series will adapt the storyline of the latest games, depicting Kratos guiding his ten-year-old son Atreus through Norse mythological conflicts. Callum Vinson remains attached as Atreus, while the supporting cast includes Max Parker, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Mandy Patinkin, and others. Executive production is led by Ronald D. Moore and a team of co-executives under Tall Ship Productions.
